Welcome to the Library Page

The goal of Scarborough's Library is to promote information literacy and the love of reading.  We believe these goals will enable individuals to become effective lifelong readers and learners.  The library program provides educational and technological opportunities to the students and teachers of Scarborough.  Our program is geared to help individuals to access, analyze, and use information effectively.

We use the Athena program in the library.  Athena is a computerized card catalogue that contains a brief description of every book we have in the library.  Books may be searched by title, author, or subject.   Athena can also be used  to verify if the library has a particular book and if it is/is not checked out.

Library Rules

1.  A student must have a pass to enter the Library.

2.  No food or drinks are allowed in the library.  Please help us keep all of the media resources clean and in order.

3.  Students may have two books checked out at a time. 

4.  Fines are not charged for overdue books.  If a child has an overdue book, he/she will not be able to check out another book until the overdue book is returned.  Students must pay for lost books.
